Limpopo
Today we were learning about Limpopo. I created a google drawing with facts and
photos about it. My teacher read a narrative story about Limpopo to us to help us with
ideas of how to add figurative language into our own stories to make it more interesting

For the past week or so we have been writing narrative stories to understand narrative
structure and figurative language. This is the beginning mine and my partners planning
on how our story will go. Next week we are going to write out story adding detail and high
level words to engage our readers and keep them wanting to read more.

Maori slang!
Today we learned about Maori slang. We used a website that will help us by playing
games such as matching the words together etc. Once we finished that we had pick 5 Maori slang words that you like. I choose these! I enjoyed learning these words and I will
diffidently use them around my friends. The thing I found hard was learning the Maori
part but I eventually got the hang of it.

Technology- Cooking
Today we had technology and we made scones. Here is how we made it and ingredients
we used. I enjoyed making them. The part I found hard was making the butter bread
crumbs. If I did this again I wouldn't use as much milk and add sugar to make it
sweet but it was still delicious.

My maps
Today I created a my maps using some places that I have visited around our country.
I learnt that this is a good way to present your work. You can use this for stories
bringing your imagination to life, travel diary where you can map out where you have
been. You can also plan where you want to go and how long it will take you.

Basketball coding!!
Today we were learning to improve our skills and knowledge on our chrome books by
learning how to code using hour of code. I decided to make a basketball game. Coding is a
way to make your own game by adjusting movement blocks. This is how all of online games are made as well! Here's how I created mine. First off I started by moving my arrows left and right, I had to make the flags green to move on to the next step. Once I got through the stages, it let me play by shooting the ball into the hoop and scoring a point. I enjoyed creating it. The part I found hard was trying to get the ball into the hoop. Next time I will definitely look at creating my own game from scratch!
